Texts on Astronomy, Many with Illustrative Plates

Thirteen William Herschel Texts on Astronomy, from Philosophical Transactions. Disbound quarto sections in oversized wrappers. Some stapled, some uncut, with a few trimmed. Some with illustrative plates, a few of which are folding. Edges somewhat toned with light rippling to sections. Occasional offsetting of plates. An interesting collection of works by the German-born British astronomer, best known for his discovery of Uranus and his work regarding Saturn's rings. Herschel also discovered two moons for both aforementioned planets and coined the word "asteroid." All in very good condition. (Detailed list at HA.com)
