    Description

The Woman's Rights Almanac for 1858, Containing Facts, Statistics, Arguments, Records of Progress, and Proofs of the Need of It. Worcester: Z. Baker & Company, [1857]. 4.5" x 7.5", unpaginated, string bound with printed wraps. Moderate damp staining to the wraps with a split at the folds but the wraps remain gently attached. Otherwise the paper has toned and there are a few chips to the pages at the edges and a small area of loss at the edge of the front wrap. An interesting almanac which in addition to the usual monthly information on the phases of the moon, etc., also includes statistical data on women in the workforce, a history of women, and the status of suffrage laws, circa 1857. From the Judith Kaplan Women's History Collection.
