The Roycrofers press printed literally hundreds of thousands of copies in various formats over the years. It is rare to find the article in this original state. This copy is exceptional with only some chipping to the spine and the wraps remain fragilely attached to the text block. [and:] A Message to Garcia: Being a Preachment by Elbert Hubbard. East Aurora: Roycrofters, 1899. Octavo. 5.5" x 8.75". Saddle stitched printed wraps. Pages uncut. With an advertisement for the New York Central Railroad on the inside front wrap. Hand-made paper; one illuminated initial. Contemporary ink note on the front wrap. Fine condition. The three variants are offered in a rather darkened clamshell case.
