    Lamartine Pemberton Sieker (1848-1914) enlisted in the Confederate Army as a private in 1863 (aged fifteen years) and served under Gen. Robert E. Lee in Capt. W. W. Parker's Company of Virginia Light Artillery, Army of Northern Virginia. After the war, Sieker moved to Texas and the following year (1874) joined the Texas Rangers in Company "D," Frontier Battalion, and by 1882 he was captain of the company. Twice served as Rangers quartermaster from 1885 until 1893 and again from 1899 through 1905. He was assistant adjutant general from 1889 through 1895 and was later an officer in the Texas National Guard.
