Of interest, only the January 20, 1845 Missouri resolution mentions the issue of slavery, stating: "...Texas should be annexed to the United States without dividing her territory into slaveholding and non-slaveholding States, but leaving that question to be settled by the people who now or may hereafter occupy the territory that may be annexed."
