Pair of Richard Nixon Signed Books. Perhaps America's most well-known resignation came when Richard Nixon stepped down from the highest office in the land when he was facing impeachment for the Watergate scandal. His presidency up until that point was marked by numerous successes including several in the area of foreign relations. This lot contains two books signed by Nixon: Real Peace: (Boston: Little, Brown and Company, 1984), first trade edition, 107 pages, original blue cloth, dust jacket (mylar protected), 5.75" x 8.5". Signed on the free front endpaper as "Richard Nixon"; and in fine condition; light wear on the dust jacket, otherwise a very clean copy.
Six Crises: (Garden City, New York: Doubleday & Company, 1962), first edition, 460 pages, J. Thomas Winters ex libris bookplate on the inside front cover as well as his name in the upper left of the same cover, original grey cloth with gilt and blue embossments on cover and spine, original paper dust jacket, 6.25" x 9.5". Signed on the free front endpaper as "Richard Nixon"; and is in good condition; front cover is separated at the spine, held onto the book only by netting; moderate wear to the dust jacket from storage and age; head and tail are rounded and bumped; cover has several small indentations. An excellent pair.
