    Editio decima. Small octavo. With title page printed in red and black, frontispiece by G. Schoute and twenty-six fine engravings, four of them folding, by J. van Vianen.

     

    Contemporary full vellum with exposed thongs and manuscript spine lettering, covers and spine with rolled gilt borders and rules, covers with large gilt representation of Athena and her owl (and with the words "Hagae Comis" at the base). An excellent copy, extremely clean and in a binding to suit.

     

    Originally published in 1659, this well known mythology compilation was popular for over 100 years and was translated into a number of languages.
