Inscribed and signed by the author, "to Scott Cupp - / A Child-rearing guide / for the military school set... / Best / Orson Scott Card / NASFiC - '85" on the half-title page. Octavo. 357 pages. Publisher's dark blue cloth over light blue paper-covered boards with silver spine lettering. Original illustrated dust jacket. Minimal edge wear to the book and jacket. Tiny crease to front flap of jacket. A fine copy of the 1986 Hugo Award Winner for Best Novel, inscribed by the author to Texas writer, bookseller, and science fiction convention organizer, Scott Cupp. This book is also the basis for an upcoming Hollywood adaptation, starring Harrison Ford, Abigail Breslin, and Ben Kingsley.
