An Original Drawing by Dr. Seuss of a
    "Star-Bellied Sneetch"

Dr. Seuss (Theodore Geisel, 1904-1991, American artist and writer). Original drawing of a "Star-Bellied Sneetch." [N.p., n.d.] Signed by Seuss in black ink beneath drawing. Original black ink, and yellow, purple, and orange crayon. Image size: Approximately 9 x 5.5 inches. On plain white paper. Paper is very slightly wrinkled in places, one small faint ink smudge beneath drawing, and one small faint stain to the right of the drawing, neither affecting drawing or signature. Overall, a fine and charming full-color drawing. Matted, framed and glazed (Plexiglass). One of Seuss' most popular characters, the Sneetches first appeared in his short story collection, The Sneetches and Other Stories (Random House, 1961), and taught children about the folly of racial discrimination. This lot comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Peter Harrington Rare Books.
