    More Information:

Norman de Garis Davies (1865-1941) first worked in Egypt as a copyist with Petrie at Dendera in the 1897-8 season. He was later put in charge of the Egypt Exploration Fund's Archaeological Survey for which he produced eleven volumes of copies of tombs at Saqqara, Sheikh Said, Deir el-Gebrawi, and Amarna. Even after producing this volume of work, the Fund never gave him the security of employment he sought, and in early 1907 he was offered employment as the head of the graphic section of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's new expedition to Egypt. It was during this period that Davies, with the help of his artist wife Nina, produced his series of books on the tombs of Thebes for the M.M.A.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
