Cynthia Ann Parker: The Story of Her Capture. Original cloth cover in nice condition on this 1886 volume by James T. DeShields. 80 pp., published by Chas. B. Woodward, St. Louis.

Cynthia Ann was captured by the Comanche in 1836 at the age of nine, and lived among them for 24 years before being recaptured and returned to "civilization." She died in 1864, leaving two children, one of whom, Quanah Parker, born in 1854, would grow up to be a great Comanche leader. Pages are brittle, but otherwise in excellent condition. A fascinating tale.
