    Sullivan recounts his early life and service in Company "B" of the Texas Rangers' Frontier Battalion. Chapters are devoted to the hanging of Bill Longley, the capture of Henry Carothers, the arrest of O. N. Hollingsworth, the Gordon train robbery, the murder of Edd Hartman, and numerous tales of Indian fights.
