(London: Longman, Brown, Green & Longmans, 1843). First edition. Three octavo volumes (7.5" x 5"). Viii, 312, 32 [publisher's ads, dated July 1843]; [iv], 318; [iv], 299 pages. Illustrated with a folding map. Cloth back over paper boards, with printed paper spine labels. Cloth and labels on volumes I and II renewed. Volume III heavily shaken and out of the casing at the rear hinge, front hinge just holding on. Different bookplates in the first two volumes. Altogether, a good copy of a scarce book. "Texas is 'The resort of vagabonds and scoundrels, wholly destitute of principle and probity.'" From the collection of Darrel Brown.
