    Three works in one small octavo volume (6.1875 x 3.75 inches). 115, [1, blank] leaves; 159, [1, blank] leaves; [1], 537, [7, index] pages. Woodcut printer's device on the verso of the final text leaf of first two works and on the title of the second work. Nine woodcut illustrations in the third work.

    Contemporary blindstamped pigskin over bevelled wooden boards. Spine in four compartments with three raised bands on double cords lettered in manuscript in one compartment and with paper label in one compartment lettered in ink. Front cover stamped in black: "H C I 1576." Edges stained red. Clasps and leather hasps lacking. Binding rubbed and slightly darkened along board edges and spine. Front free endpaper detached. Paper slightly browned, some scattered marginal dampstaining, heaviest in the lower corner at the beginning of the first work. A few pencil annotations and underlining.

    Contains two works by Nikolaus Selnecker (1530-1592), German Lutheran theologian, hymnist, and coauthor (with Jakob Andreae and Martin Chemnitz) of the 1577 Formula of Concord, and a work by Georg Walther (ca. 1530-1580), preacher at Halle in Saxony, on rules for Christian living.
