Inscribed by Algren on the front free endpaper: "With best/wishes to/Burt Brittan [?]/from/Nelson Algren/NYC/11 Oct. 1975". Beneath this inscription, Algren has included a drawing of a cat. Octavo. 346 pages. Publisher's yellow paper backstrip over blue boards, front board stamped in black and gilt, spine stamped in black and blue. In the publisher's dust jacket. Cloth spine toned, joints torn (yet still solid), binding, sunned, rubbed, soiled. Fore-edge of text block soiled. Jacket spine a bit toned, some rubbing, soiling to jacket. Very good.
