Illustrated with 56 colored plates (with tissue guards), which are direct scale transfers from the wings of moths and butterflies, with approximately 400 additional illustrations. Half red leather binding with marbled boards; spines decorated with gold stamped butterflies; marbled end papers; thick coated papers with gilded edges. Hinges slightly worn. Very good. An important American color plate book.
