    More Information:

Comprising nine hand-colored engravings featuring carnations by Planson and printed by Lesauvage in France, circa 1845; and one hand-colored lithograph featuring orchids (Galeandra Devoniana) by Walter Hood Fitch and printed by Vincent Brooks, circa 1862. Carnation prints (plate numbers: 8, 9, 16, 30, 32, 34, 40, 41, and 45) measure approximately 15 x 12 inches (400 x 300 mm.) and are matted and shrink-wrapped. We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
