Amsterdam, Aux dépens de la Compagnie, 1716. Third revised edition. Quarto. [xx], 590, [58] pages. With twenty-five fold-out plates illustrating 400 medicinal plants and animals. With half-title. Title-page printed in black and red. Contemporary full brown calf, spine tooled in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, brown gilt morocco lettering label, gilt board edges. Binding worn and somewhat soiled, spine label chipped, hinges cracking, endleaves foxed, some mild foxing to text, several fold-out plates browned, with a few extending beyond the fore-edge of the text (with some accompanying edgewear), some occasional ink notations. Still, a good copy. Lord Battersea's copy with his bookplate.
