    Mrs. [Jane Webb] Loudon. The Ladies' Flower-Garden of Ornamental Bulbous Plants. London: William Smith, 1841. Quarto. x, 270 pages. Fifty-eight beautiful hand colored plates, lithographed by "Day & Haghe to the Queen". Plate number 5 bound in as the frontispiece and plate number 32 bound before plate 31, as indicated in plate list. Each plate with a blank paper guard. Half green roan over marbled paper covered boards, gilt rules on covers, five raised spine bands with gilt rules, decorations and titles on spine, yellow endpapers, all edges gilt. Binding rubbed, scuffed, and scratched, light soiling, surface leather and paper loss, gilt on textblock edges scratched and worn, tail band loose; front hinge open, rear hinge cracked, "Washington/ Cathedral Library/ Mary Jesup Blair/ Memorial Library" bookplate and small catalog sticker on front pastedown, holograph ink signature of "Mary Jesup Blair" on front free endpaper, seven inch tear in L2, L3, and following paper guard from foot into text, edge wear with few small chips; minor smudges, soiling, and creases; nonetheless a lovely plate book in very good condition.
