Octavo (10.25 x 6.5 inches; 260 x 162 mm.). ix, [1, blank], [9]-371, [1, blank], [1, subscribers], [3, blank] pages; eighty-nine illustrated plates inserted throughout. Contemporary pebble-grain leather, boards tooled in gilt; spine in five compartments, lettered in gilt, with four gilt-stamped raised bands; gilt dentelles; marbled endpapers; all edges gilt. Front board detached; corners and edges worn; boards rubbed; rear joint starting; spine darkened; crown chipped with a closed tear extending into the upper compartment, approximately one and one-half inches. Scattered foxing throughout, without significantly affecting prints. Good but with generally clean plates.
