Abbeville edition, originally printed in Japan in an edition of 350 copies (of which 300 were bound) consisting of 435 facsimile reproductions of the Havell originals. Double-elephant folio (approximately 39.5 x 26.5 inches; 1000 x 675 mm.). While the total number of plates is approximately 165, this number possibly includes some duplicates. Attractive illustrated prints, watermarked "Audubon Society Abbeville Press". Loose leaves, unbound or disbound. Several leaves with wear to the left margin from original binding, stab holes visible; some corners bumped; occasional faint marginal soiling, minor edgewear. Generally near fine.
