    J[ohn]. J[ames]. Audubon. Canis (Vulpes) Virginianus, GMEL. Grey Fox. Philadelphia: J. T. Bowen, 1843. Original hand-colored lithograph (Plate XXI) from the first imperial folio edition of Audubon's The Viviparous Quadrupeds of North America (Philadelphia: 1843-1848), printed and colored by J. T. Bowen and dated 1843. Approximately 19.875 x 26 inches; 505 x 662 mm. (sight). Framed and matted behind Plexiglas. Some very light spotting. Mounted by two corners onto pasteboard; short tear repaired at one corner, out of sight; edge where removed from volume slightly rough. A few scratches to frame. Otherwise a clean, bright, very nearly fine print.
