    [Gilbert White]. The Natural History and Antiquities of Selborne in the in the County of Southampton: With Engravings and Appendix. London: Printed by T. Bensley for B. White & Son, 1789. First edition. With a mounted inscription on page v: "Your Loving Bro[the]r/Gil White". Quarto. v, [481], [1, blank] pages. Complete with folded engraved panoramic frontispiece of Selborne, two engraved title-pages, and seven inserted engravings. With Errata. Tipped onto the front free endpaper is a page from The Mirror (1830) showing "The Birthplace of Reverend Gilbert White" and tipped-in the rear is a facsimile page of White's Journal. Bound in contemporary full calf, boards double-ruled in black. Rebacked to style in modern brown calf, spine tooled in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, green gilt morocco lettering label. Some wear to boards, some rubbing to spine, hinges starting (yet still quite solid), minor occasional soiling in text, some offsetting from plates. A near fine copy.
