Publisher's black cloth; spine lettered in gilt with green strip at title; top edge stained green, others untrimmed; original illustrated dust jacket. Spine somewhat skewed; moderate shelf wear at extremities of binding; slight wear at joints; spine ends gently pushed; mild soiling to boards. Normal age toning to edges and interior of text block; a bit of foxing at endpapers. Faint toning to dust jacket, most noticeable at spine panel; minimal paper loss at spine and flap fold ends with short splits at upper corners of rear panel; barely perceptible wear at joint and flap folds. A very good copy in a near fine jacket. Noir classic adapted into the 1947 film starring Tyrone Power. The Dark Page 122. From the Otto Penzler Collection of Mystery Fiction.
