DescriptionWilkie Collins. No Name. London: 1862. First edition.
Wilkie Collins. No Name. London: Sampson Low, Son, & Co., 1862. First edition. Three volumes. Octavo. ix, , 339, ; , 363, ; , 408 pages. Publisher's light red cloth, spines lettered and decoratively stamped in gilt, boards with decorative blind-stamping; all text block edges untrimmed. Spines a bit skewed; general, mild rubbing and soiling to cloth; spine ends pushed and worn, with a couple of tiny splits starting to appear; small areas of loss to gilt stamping; second volume backstrip slightly rippled and discolored; some wear along joints and bottom edges; corners bumped, a few with boards peeking through cloth. Text blocks slightly dulled with age; edges worn and page edges generally a bit roughly opened, resulting in nicking and rumpling of individual page edges, with occasional, very faint foxing; three of six hinges split, but all still sound; fairly mild soiling and foxing scattered throughout interior, along with some evidence of dog-earing; two volumes with previous owner's inked inscription at head of title-pages. Very good.
