Various paginations. Publisher's black cloth, three spines and two fronts stamped in red, one spine and front stamped in yellow; one text block with all edges trimmed, three with top edges trimmed, two stained red, one yellow; original illustrated dust jackets, one with wraparound promotional band. A few spine ends slightly rolled, showing minimal wear; minor wear along bottom edges of boards. Text block edges a bit dulled; top edges dust-soiled; Great Hotel Murder endpapers unevenly toned, with evidence of removed label at rear free endpaper. Jackets slightly edge-worn and rubbed; "B" Deck sunned with some foxing at rear panel and staining along front panel fold; several short tears to promotional band; Great Hotel with brown paper strips reinforcing top and bottom edges at verso. Near fine overall. Photo of Starrett laid in at front of Dead Man Inside, inscribed on rear, "V. S. / Peking, 1936 / Photo by / Robert H. Davis."
