Sydney Horler. The Screaming Skull. And Other Stories. London: Hodder and Stoughton, . First edition. [Together with:] The Spy. London: Hodder and Stoughton, . First edition. [And:] The House in Greek Street. With the Devil and the Deep, Men in Masks, and the Clean Wineglass. London: Hodder and Stoughton, 1935. First edition. [And:] The Mystery of the Seven Cafés. The Novel of the Famous Wireless Play. London: Hodder and Stoughton, . First edition. Four volumes. Octavo. Various paginations. Publisher's cloth, three in blue and one in yellowish orange, spines and fronts lettered in black; all text block edges trimmed; three original dust jackets, one possibly supplied. Spine ends just a bit rolled, some starting to show just the slightest trace of wear; The Spy backstrip discolored; a few faint smudges to cloth of The Screaming Skull; mild soiling along top edge of front board of House in Greek Street; trace of wear along bottom edges of boards; some corners just the tiniest bit tapped. Text blocks a bit dulled with age; edges of three volumes faintly foxed with an occasional bit of soiling (Greek Street stained rather than foxed); top edge of Screaming Skull dust-soiled; previous owner initials inked to front free endpaper of House in Greek Street; occasional speck of foxing scattered throughout interiors, heaviest at The Spy. All jackets but The Spy rubbed and showing a bit of foxing or soiling; edge wear resulting in nicking, rumpling, and short tears, particularly at spine ends; Screaming Skull with evidence of two small labels pulled up at spine and front panels; folds softly creased and worn; rear flap fold of Greek Street stained, with series of small holes. Very good to near fine.
