1932 Sax Rohmer-Signed MGM Contract for the Movie Rights to The Mask of Fu Manchu

Sax Rohmer. Signed Film Rights Contract for MGM's Production of The Mask of Fu Manchu.

One page, August 17, 1932. Measures approximately 8.5" x 13". Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Corporation contract for the motion picture rights to Rohmer's classic, The Mask of Fu Manchu. Signed "Sax Rohmer" at the bottom.

Typical two-hole punch at top. One horizontal and one vertical fold. Light edge wear and a few minor creases. Small section of top edge tattered. American Consulate General embossed blindstamp. Very good condition.

The Mask of Fu Manchu, starring Boris Karloff and Myrna Loy, was released just a few months after this contract was signed, on November 5, 1932, and it has become something of a cult classic for its stereotypical "Yellow Peril" treatment of Asians.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
