Sax Rohmer. The Bat Flies Low. London: Cassell and Company, . First English edition. Octavo. 319,  pages. Publisher's black cloth, spine stamped in red; all text block edges trimmed; original illustrated dust jacket. Spine ends soften and just a bit discolored; crease just starting along spine; minimal wear and one small bump to lower edges. Text block edges very softly dulled with age; small spot of discoloration at each pastedown. Jacket slightly tanned at spine panel, with small drip stain toward middle and tiny hole near rear panel fold; chipping at spine ends and along edges of front and rear panels, with a few tears, longest extending in about 1.5 inches; fairly mild rubbing at front and rear panels, with creasing at front panel and a bit of soiling at rear panel; soft creasing to folds, with nicking at flap fold ends, front flap fold splitting from bottom and at middle; rumpling and discoloration to flap edges. Small tidemark visible at verso. Fine book in a good jacket.

Spine skewed; spine ends gently pushed and worn; tiny spot of soiling each at front and rear boards; top edges with a few specks of soiling; bottom edges bumped and worn. Top edge of text block very slightly darkened. Jacket spine panel very slightly dulled; nicking at spine ends; mild rubbing at front and rear panels, with mild wear at edges; folds very lightly rubbed, with nicking at flap fold ends; some rubbing and tiny specks of foxing at verso. Fine in near fine jacket.
