    Sax Rohmer. Fire-Tongue. Garden City: Doubleday, Page & Company, 1922. First U. S. edition. Octavo. [2], vi, [2], 304, [4] pages. Frontispiece by J. C. Coll. Publisher's light brown cloth, spine and front lettered in dark blue, front with decorative stamping in dark blue; all text block edges trimmed; original illustrated dust jacket. Foot of spine slightly worn; tiny hole in cloth at top edge of front board; trace of wear at corners and along bottom edges. Text block edges very slightly dulled; a few specks of staining and foxing to top and bottom edges; leaf with pages 241-242 torn from fore-edge almost to gutter. Jacket generally tanned and lightly rubbed; chipping at ends of spine panel; small gouge each at front and rear panels; few spots of pale drip-soiling at front panel; chipping and a few tiny tears at edges of front and rear panels; creasing at folds, with chipping and splitting starting at ends; rear flap fold with two-inch split at middle. Virtually fine book in a very good jacket.

Publisher's perfect binding, original illustrated paper wrappers; all text block edges trimmed. Backstrip nicked and starting to pull up at ends; creasing running vertical length, with a couple of small gouges; light wear along joints; wrapper edges a bit chipped and creased. Text block edges faintly dulled with age, and slightly rubbed and scuffed; previous owner penciling at front flyleaf. Very good, with a clean, bright interior.
