First edition, association copy, inscribed by the author to Wayne Warga, columnist for Life Magazine and the Los Angeles Times, on the front free endpaper: "For Wayne Warga / The very first one / Ross Thomas." Octavo. 222, [2, blank] pages. Publisher's blue quarter-cloth over textured paper-covered boards, spine lettered in yellow and white, in original dust jacket. Spine slightly cocked; boards toned; light wear to spine ends. Dust jacket spine panel slightly faded; edges lightly worn, particularly at spine ends; minor creasing to interior of front flap. Very good. Winner of the 1967 Edgar Award for Best First Novel. From the KoKo Collection.
