Color frontispiece and vignette title-page; four additional inserted black-and-white plates. Publisher's full blue cloth, front and spine lettered in white. Original illustrated dust jacket. Top and fore-edge trimmed; bottom untrimmed. Mild shelf wear at extremities of binding; tiny areas of loss to white lettering at spine; faint soiling to rear board and joint. Normal age toning to edges and interior of text block; top edge with a bit of spotting; bottom roughly opened in a few places, with a handful of corners missing from interior leaves. Jacket lightly toned, thumbsoiled and rubbed, with some foxing at flap folds and rear panel; slight wear at spine and flap fold ends; flaps clipped. Near fine.
