Publisher's black cloth, spine and front board lettered in gilt; top edge stained purple, others rough-trimmed. Boards soiled with a faint whitish discoloration; some gilt lettering on spine tarnished; edges lightly worn, particularly at corners with boards just slightly exposed. Light soiling to top edge of the text block; rental library ticket affixed to rear pastedown with light offsetting opposite. Very good. The first Nero Wolfe Mystery.

Publisher's black cloth, spine and front board lettered in gilt; top edge stained yellow, others rough-trimmed. Backstrip faintly dulled with gilt lettering somewhat worn and tarnished; edges rubbed; occasional light soiling. Endpapers lightly discolored from binding glue; large ad for this title affixed to rear pastedown; fore-edge margins of some gathering lightly toned. Ex-Adrian Goldstone with his bookplate, partially covering earlier bookplate. Very good. The second Nero Wolfe mystery. From the KoKo Collection.
