Slight discoloration at fore-edge visible only in raking light. Minor purple ink stain at inner margin of front free endpaper. A nearly fine copy. With purple stamp at top edge of text block reading, "Sample Copy / Not for Sale" and promotional slip on yellow paper laid in. The second novel featuring detective Philip Marlowe.
