Frontispiece and five additional inserted plates on coated paper; in-text illustrations. Publisher's full pinkish cloth; front and spine stamped in cream; front with inset illustration on paper. Original illustrated dust jacket. All edges trimmed. Mild shelf wear at extremities of binding; spine ends slightly pushed. Some mild soiling at edges of text block. Faint toning and foxing to dust jacket; some chipping to top and bottom edges, with chip at top of spine panel barely affecting the "T" in "The"; small hold at rear flap fold; some soft creasing to joint and flap folds; two short tears from bottom of front and rear panels. Very nearly fine in a very good dust jacket. From the Otto Penzler Collection of Mystery Fiction.
