Publisher's red cloth, spine lettered in black, spine and front decoratively stamped in blind; all text block edges trimmed; illustrated dust jacket. Spine ends crimped and lightly worn; boards slightly rubbed with a trace of darkening; some minor rippling to cloth; upper corners bumped; very minor wear along bottom edges. Text block browned from age, due to paper stock; front hinge just barely starting to split; faint foxing to endpapers; front pastedown wrinkled, from binding process; upper corner of text block bumped. General light rubbing and soiling to exposed panels; slight nicking and chipping at spine and flap fold ends; soft creasing at folds; short tear, about 1.25 inches, extending down from head of rear panel fold; mild edge wear with associated soft creasing to front and rear panels; small hole toward head of front flap fold; top edge of rear flap rumpled with some speckle-soiling. Near fine.
