    More Information: O. Henry. Sixes and Sevens. Garden City: Doubleday, Page & Company, 1911. First edition. Octavo (7.375 x 4.875 inches; 187 x 124 mm.). [2, title-leaf (copyright on verso), v[-vi, contents] [sic], 283, [1, blank] pages (note: pages 3-4 not accounted for in pagination, text complete). Publisher's red cloth, spine and front board lettered in gilt, font board stamped and ruled in blind with the publisher's device stamped in gilt; all edges of the text block trimmed; plain endpapers; in the original dust jacket, priced $1.20. Spine ends very softly pushed; spine ends and corners with a hint of wear; faint light smudge to the front board. Faint discoloration to the free endpapers from two strips of unknown origin (possibly tape), since removed, more faint offsetting the front free endpaper from a clipping (?), also since removed; blemish from an erasure to the front free endpaper. Dust jacket spine panel faintly tanned; closed tears to the rear panel and flap folds, both nearly three inches long and mended with tape on the verso; lesser tears or small chips to the other folds, some other minor edgewear; light lateral creasing across the rear panel. A nearly fine copy in a very good dust jacket that still presents nicely. Uncommon in jacket. Frank J. Hogan's copy with his bookplate, sold in the first part of his sale, American Authors First Editions., January 1945 (Parke-Bernet Galleries). BAL 16298.
