Ngaio Marsh. Overture to Death. London: The Crime Club, . First edition. Octavo. 316,  pages. Publisher's red cloth, spine lettered in black; all text block edges trimmed; original dust jacket. Spine ends faded and slightly pushed; mild discoloration to boards, particularly along edges; trace of wear at corners and along bottom edges; lower corners tapped. Text block very slightly dulled; foxing around edges; occasional spots of foxing, mostly marginal, scattered throughout interior. Jacket a bit dulled, rubbed and soiled; chipping at spine and flap fold ends causing some rumpling and short tears, with head of spine and rear flap fold reinforced with paper at verso; creasing and wear along folds; a couple of small spots at verso. Near fine book in a very good jacket. A Haycraft Queen Cornerstone.

Text block a bit dulled with age; edges foxed; previous owner signature inked at front free endpaper, with a faint inscription either effaced of offset below. Jacket dulled and rubbed, with some light soiling, particularly at rear panel; nicking at spine and flap fold ends; soft creasing to folds; split running about halfway up front flap fold; some faint areas of discoloration at verso.
