Mickey Spillane. The Long Wait. New York: E. P. Dutton & Company, 1951. First edition. Inscribed by the author as "Mickey" to his mother and father: "Ma and Dad - / You're too damn / old to be reading this stuff. / Love, Mickey." Octavo. 256 pages. Publisher's gray paper-covered boards, front board and spine stamped in light purple, dust jacket. Board edges mildly rubbed and faintly sunned, head of spine with minor tear. Text block heavily dust soiled on top edge, faint foxing on edges, sporadic faint foxing throughout. Dust jacket moderately rubbed and edgeworn, chips on edges with loss on spine panel ends, light soiling on rear panel, light foxing on verso. A very good copy with a loving yet humorous inscription from a writer to his parents. From the estate of Mickey Spillane.
