Mickey Spillane. Original Typescript and Galley of The Day the Sea Rolled Back. New York: Windmill Books and E. P. Dutton, 1979. Original manuscript and long galley proof. Various sizes, largest measuring 14 x 8.5 inches. Sheets a bit foxed, general handling wear, a few corners creased. Long galley sheets loose text lightly creased, terminal sheets stained. Typescript manuscript written on original yellow pages, corners staple-bound or separated with paper clips, occasional ink annotations editing text most likely in Spillane's hand. A very good example of the beginning and ending process of the writing process.

Winner of the Junior Literary Guild award, and written on a dare from his publisher, the story followed two boys who find a shipwreck loaded with treasure. It was also Spillane's first foray into young adult fiction since his days as a comic book writer. From the estate of Mickey Spillane.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
