    Michael Innes. Lament for a Maker. New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1938. First edition. Octavo. 278 pp. Publisher's red-stamped black cloth; original illustrated dust jacket. Corners bumped, minor edgewear, head and foot of spine just pushed, boards somewhat rubbed. Endpapers printed with the Red Badge Detective logo, bookseller's ticket to front pastedown, rear hinge starting. Internally clean; top edge stained red and slightly faded, fore edge untrimmed, other edges untrimmed, minor edgewear. Dust jacket clipped; moderate edgewear, chipping to head and foot of spine panel, spine sunned, somewhat rubbed, reinforced on verso with cello tape. Very good book with good+ dust jacket. A Haycraft Queen Cornerstone.
