Publisher's full yellow cloth, front and spine stamped in black. Original illustrated dust jacket, publisher's ads printed at verso. All edges trimmed. Barely perceptible shelf wear at extremities of binding; very slight crease at spine. Normal discoloration to edges of text block. Some faint marginal thumbsoiling scattered occasionally throughout interior. A few very small chips out of joint and flap fold ends of jacket; slight pushing to spine ends. Fine in a clean, bright dust jacket. Based on Rinehart's earlier novel, The Circular Staircase, this novel (adapted in turn from a play of the same name) recounts the exploits of the titular masked criminal, who would go on to impact the creation of Batman.

Minor rubbing and toning to exposed panels of jacket; slight wear at edges, joint and flap folds; minimal paper loss at ends of spine and flap folds. Near fine.

Original illustrated dust jacket with title and author embossed in gilt; publisher's catalog printed at verso. All edges trimmed. Minor shelf wear at extremities of binding; top edges slightly dusty; spine ends gently pushed. Normal age toning to edges of text block with a few small stains and areas of scuffing. Uniform faint toning to jacket; light rubbing with some wear visible at joint and flap folds. About fine. From the Otto Penzler Collection of Mystery Fiction.
