    Description

Mario Puzo. The Godfather. New York: [1969]. First edition.

More Information: Mario Puzo. The Godfather. New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, [1969]. First edition. Octavo (8.25 x 5.625 inches; 209 x 145 mm.). 446, [2, blank] pages. Publisher's black cloth backstrip over whitish cloth-covered boards, spine lettered in gilt, front board decoratively stamped in gilt; top edge trimmed, others rough-trimmed; in the original dust jacket. Spine slightly skewed; backstrip very faintly dulled toward the foot of the spine; corners very slightly bent with just a touch of wear. Slightly shaken; text block sagging very slightly; minor dampstain to the top edge of the text block near the crown; front hinge possibly strengthened by gluing the inner margins of the half-title and the front free endpaper together. Dust jacket worn at the edges and folds with some nicks and creasing, occasional short closed tear; spine panel lettering dulled; rear panel lightly rubbed. Very good.
