All edges trimmed. A bit of edge and joint wear to wrappers; a bit of curling at fore-edges from plastic covers; soft creasing to backstrip; overall mild rubbing and light soiling. Top edge of text block stained, with tidemarks extending into upper margins of leaves; fore-edge slightly foxed; mild age toning with a few abrasions. Occasional marginal foxing and splashing scattered throughout interior. Very good.

    [Together with:] Detective. Philadelphia: J. B. Lippincott Company, 1932. First edition. Octavo. 242 pages. Publisher's full yellow cloth, front and spine lettered in green. Original illustrated dust jacket printed on yellow paper. All edges trimmed; top edge stained green. Fairly mild shelf wear at extremities of binding; spine ends gently pushed; a few spots of mild soiling visible mostly in raking light. One or two instances of faint marginal thumbsoiling scattered throughout interior of text block. Spine panel of jacket lightly sunned; general mild rubbing to exposed panels with a bit of soiling and penciling; a touch of fraying starting at spine and flap fold ends. Near fine.

Original illustrated dust jacket, printed on greenish paper. All edges trimmed; top edge stained reddish brown. A bit of shelf wear at extremities of binding; spine ends gently pushed. Top edge of text block a bit dust-soiled; regular age toning to remaining edges and interior of text block. Jacket spine panel slightly sunned; a bit of edge wear and wear at joint and flap folds; mild rubbing. Near fine. From the Otto Penzler Collection of Mystery Fiction.
