    Octavo. xii, 318 pages (there are more pages in the sealed "solution" in the back of the book). With twelve illustrations by Covarrubias inserted throughout. Publisher's full yellow embossed paper boards, front board and spine stamped in black. In the original publisher's dust jacket. Book's spine a bit toned, some moderate rubbing, thumbsoiling to boards. With a charming illustrated gift inscription on the front free endpaper from a previous owner (Frank Connolly). Jacket spine toned, some edgewear, thumbsoiling, chipping and a few creased tears to jacket. Good.

    John Riddell is the pseudonym of humorist Corey Ford.
