Octavo (7.25 x 4.875 inches; 185 x 123 mm.). 222, [2, blank] pages. Publisher's light blue cloth, spine lettered in gilt, in original dust jacket. Spine gently leaning with a tiny faint stain near the crown; spine ends lightly creased; bottom corners softly bumped; board edges very lightly rubbed. Page edges foxed. Dust jacket spine panel just a shade dulled with a thin, faint line of rubbing down the center; folds lightly rubbed with a tiny bruise at the bottom edge of the front joint fold; very minor edgewear; rear panel very lightly soiled. Still, a near fine copy. Basis for the 1965 Martin Ritt film starring Richard Burton, Oskar Werner and Claire Bloom. From the KoKo Collection.
