[viii], 187, [188], [1, blank], [1, note on the type], [2, blank] pages. Publisher's orange cloth, front board lettered and decoratively stamped in blue, spine and rear board stamped in blue outlining text and publisher's device; top edge stained blue; in original dust jacket. Spine gently leaning; backstrip very faintly dulled; cloth lightly faded at board edges; few very faint soiled spots near joints. Topstain lightly rubbed with some color loss near spine; just slightly over-opened at the end of the first gathering. Dust jacket faintly discolored at lower-third portion of the spine panel; insignificant chipping at spine ends and edges of the flap folds; short closed tear to bottom edge of front panel. A beautiful copy in very good condition. Source material for a host of films, including the acclaimed 1946 Lana Turner and John Garfield vehicle and Luchino Visconti's 1943 feature debut, under the title Ossessione.
