    James Ellroy. White Jazz. Original holograph manuscript, signed. 1992. (8.5 x 11 inches). 562 pages (leaves) on lined loose-leaf paper with holes punched, on rectos only, in black ink. Extensive corrections, cross-outs, and additions in red ink, in the author's hand. Five additional preliminary leaves, unpaginated, that include a title page, his list of previous works, a quote attributed to Ross MacDonald, and his dedication to Helen Knode, and a half-title, all in Ellroy's hand. Each page is numbered at the top left, and with massive corrections and changes to the earliest draft of this work. Housed in a paper wrapper, black cloth chemise, and black book-backed slipcase with red morocco spine labels tooled and lettered in gilt. Fine.
