Octavo. 312, [8, publisher's ads] pages. Publisher's red cloth, stamped in dark red; all text block edges trimmed; original illustrated dust jacket. Slight lean to spine; spine ends worn and rolled just a touch; specks of insect damage to backstrip; boards slightly splayed; two tiny holes of insect damage at top edge of rear board; trace of wear to bottom edges; lower corner of front board tapped. Mild tanning to text block; top edge slightly soiled; faint, tiny specks of foxing to fore-edge; bump to lower corner bending a number of page edges; uneven discoloration to endpapers; small, scattered spots of marginal soiling throughout. Chipping to ends of jacket spine panel, causing some loss of text at bottom and resulting in split extending about 1.75 inches up rear panel fold; spine panel mildly dulled; rubbing and soft creasing to front and rear panels, with handful of tiny tears along top edge of front panel and bottom edge of rear; flap folds creased, with nicks at ends. Mild, uneven tanning at verso. Very good.
