    J. Bernard MacCarthy. Covert. A Novel. London: Hutchinson & Co., no date [ca. 1925]. First edition, signed and inscribed by the author. Publisher's cloth stamped in black, original dust jacket. Binding significantly bowed, especially the front board. Rubbing and bumping to the cloth binding, jacket with slight soiling and a couple edge tears, crease to rear flap, but shows very well. Previous owner's ink address to front free endpaper. Inscribed leaf appears to be tipped onto the front side of the half title (or repaired/reinserted - paper seems to match the adjacent leaves). Occasional soiling to sheets, which are slightly cockled. A few corners turned over, one corner torn away at page 277/278. Publisher's catalog at the rear, altogether very good.
